The Hamilton Township Community Education Departments summer day camp program for area children ages 5 to 12 will be housed in the Hess School.

The Camp will run for 8 weeks in the summer 0f 2020 (June to August). Camp Hours would be 9am to 4pm Monday thru Friday. (There is also a before and aftercare program 7am-9am & 4pm-6pm)

Camp Blue Star is now accepting applications for the following positions:

Camp Counselors:

Need for camp counselors/group leaders to lead a group of 20-25 children each week. Each week will be a different group of children, utilizing curriculum based block schedule with activities ranging from arts/crafts, science, computers, language arts, math programs for kids. Person needs to be dynamic and like to have fun. Recreational activities will be led by counselors as well.

Requirements: Classroom experience &/or advanced degree (Teaching Certification preferred). Ability to spend extended periods of time in standing/walking/sitting positions in indoor and outdoor environments.

Ability to actively participate with youth in recreational activities. Ability to swim in deep water.

Junior Counselors:

Jr. Counselors will be responsible for assisting with activities, oversee groups of campers, help with lessons, supervise lunchtimes

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalency required. Ability to spend extended periods of time in standing/walking/sitting positions in indoor and outdoor environments.

Ability to actively participate with youth in recreational activities. Ability to swim in deep water. Previous experience working with children a plus.

Lifeguards:

Requirements: 16 years of age or older. Valid and current certification for lifeguarding, first aid for the professional rescuer, and CPR.

Previous experience working with children a plus.
